Video showing how to setup Microsoft WMM 1000 Wireless Optical Mouse with your Laptop. ![]() I have a microsoft standard wireless optical mouse model 1025. The right button has stopped functioning. Is used in conjunction with Microsoft Wireless MuliMedia Keyboard 1.1, model 1014. They came as a package. Have removed switch from mouse cktbd and tested for continuity. Have found others in forums with similar but not same prob. Here are some solutions I've come up with; • New wireless mouse and kybd (really don't want to) • Replace switch if possible (can do if I can fine a supplier) • Use odifferent mouse if same freq (not probable) • Purchase used one if one can be found (also not probable) • Helpful suggestions appreciated If anyone has other suggestions, they would really be helpful. Pros: Simple design, optical tracking, good range. Cons: The scroll wheel is not good, it doesn't scroll smoothly at all. USB 3.0 port required. (for 16GB): Up to 100MB/s read speed; write speed lower and varies by capacity. It DOES work, you just have to scroll the heck out of it; whether an individual 'click' of the scroll wheel will have the desired effect is random. Other Thoughts: There were some complains about mouse range. I use this mouse as a remote control to watch movies from my bed, which puts the mouse about 10 feet from my computer. It is not a problem, as I just pull the mouse's transceiver out in front of the computer when I am doing this, and it works 100%, no complaints. Pros: I've had this same mouse for over 3 years now. I can't believe it has lasted this long considering the abuse it has received and the dropping it has endured. It is a comfortable size and has a sturdy scroll wheel/button. It clicks easily and is fairly light. Batteries last a good while, but not as long as I would like. Sturdy, reliable, self-repairing, comfortable, long-lasting, and inexpensive. Cons: There is no real way of knowing when the batteries are close to there end unless you take them out and use a tester. When the batteries get too low, the mouse freaks out then just sits stationary. Other Thoughts: I dropped it once and the left click stopped working unless I pressed real hard. After about a week or so, I hit it on the table in click frustration and the problem fixed itself. Sturdy and self-repairing, what more can you ask for.
